Liftology Ep 24: Considering the Emotional Component When Designing Learning Experiences

The following are elements of learning science we can and should use to ensure we are creating conditions for successful learning after an initial synchronous learning event:

1. Spaced Learning via LIFTS (Learning Interventions Fueling

Transformation), which provide learners opportunities for:

• Reactivation

• Practice & Feedback

• Reflection

2. While also keeping in mind that people learn better when they are motivated and not too anxious.

3. That learners build confidence as they experience continual improvement as a result of repeated practice.

4. That what they are learning is relevant to them and their role.

5. That they feel safe: understanding they can make mistakes and learn from them.

How are you leveraging learning science to ensure you are optimizing outcomes for your learners?

As always, we partnered with our awesome board advisor, Clark Quinn who helped us develop LIFTOLOGY based on his work as a cognitive and learning sciences expert, so we can help you do what you do even better.

Ready to get new ideas about how to leverage the Science of Learning to increase the impact and return on investment in your trainings?
