Liftology Ep 19: The Role of Asking About Application In Life

In the last Liftology, we discussed the role of Reflection as a powerful component of learning; one people rarely create the space for, including when we design learning experiences.

In this week's video, we explore the importance of asking learners to reflect on how they have applied the learning from a training in the context of their life, including in their role.

What can we gain by intentionally designing spaced-out opportunities for our learners to reflect on their learning in the weeks and months after a learning event?

By creating opportunities for them to reflect on what their key takeaways were from the training, how they are applying their learnings, how they are beginning to experience the impact of trying out their newly developing skills, and then providing them with feedback on those reflections, we significantly increase the likelihood that the learning will stick and that they are able to shift their behavior and performance.

Big gratitude to our awesome board advisor, Clark Quinn who helped us develop LIFTOLOGY based on his work as a cognitive and learning sciences expert so we can help you do what you do even better.

Ready to get new ideas about how to leverage the Science of Learning to increase the impact and return on investment in your trainings?
